I am interested in creating images that express the magic and beauty of the world around us.

Seeing and capturing light and motion are vital to my work. I believe that the key to expressing emotion is capturing the aura around the subject. The air around us is substance, not a vacuum. It is light diffused through the moisture and dust particles in the air that produces beautiful hues. Painting that light and using it to create connecting shapes and color between the background and the subject creates the mood.

Everything and everyone is in constant motion (even when standing still). This creates moving particles that are always changing colors. Trying to capture movement through paint is elusive and only momentary. It is this challenge this keeps me painting.
